Social and Behavioral Science Sequence
The purpose of the Social and Behavioral Science Sequence (SBSS) is to enable students to engage the seminal insights of the social and behavioral sciences (anthropology, psychology, sociology, economics, geography, history and political science) by using these concepts and approaches to illuminate the history of the United States.
GH HON 2243H and GN HON 2244H (Behavioral Science Courses)
GN HON 2243, Human Sciences Sequence: Personal Identity: Part of the Honors College sequence on human nature, this course focuses on behavioral scientific studies of personal identity. Will draw on classic and modern works that investigate the self, its development, and its relationships to others.
GN HON 2244, Human Sciences Sequence: Identity in Groups: Part of the Honors College sequence on human nature, this course focuses on behavioral scientific studies of identity in relation to groups. Will draw on classic and modern works that examine how people identify and are identified with groups, and the effects of those processes.
GN HON 2245H and GN HON 2246H (Social Science Courses)
GN HON 2245, Human Sciences Sequence: Identity in Modern Nations: Part of the Honors College sequence on human nature, this course focuses on social scientific studies of modern society and the individual’s role in it. Will draw on classic and modern works that investigate the rise of modern society and its influences on its members.
GN HON 2246, Human Sciences Sequence: Globalization and Social Identity: Part of the Honors College sequence on human nature, this course focuses on social scientific studies of the forces of globalization and their influences on the individual. Will draw on classic and modern works that investigate the interdependencies of modern global society.
