Honors College Course Proposal

New Proposal

This proposal will be reviewed by the Honors Council. A copy of the syllabus for this course, even if it is still under development, will help the Council make an informed judgment about the course's alignment with the Criteria for Honors Courses. Honors Eligibility

Please describe how this course comports with one or more of the Criteria for Honors Courses formulated by the Honors Council (nature of assignments, greater depth or breadth of coverage, degree of student engagement, etc.). If you have taught non-honors versions of this course, you should indicate how the honors course will differ from the non-honors course.

I have received the required approval from my department chair to teach this course.

  • All new honors course proposals must be approved by the Honors Council.
  • Some faculty will be eligible for E&E supplements when their course is complete.
  • Room assignments will be made through Central Scheduling in Registration. We will make every effort to accommodate specific requests. If you would like to schedule a room through your department, please notify the Honors College of the location.
  • We assume that textbooks will be ordered through your department. If you have any questions, please call (573) 882-3893.
  • Classes meeting one day per week do not have scheduled final exam times. If you plan to have an exam for your one-hour class, please contact Patty Kroll in Registration (573) 882-0115 to have a room and time scheduled.
