Biography

Dr. Parks is a professor of Nutrition in the School of Medicine, where she teaches courses on energy balance and how the body uses food and stored calories (body fat) to maintain health.  She performs both human clinical research and animal research and has been credited with discovering the importance of dietary sugar to increase fat synthesis – particularly in the liver.
