Scholarship Application Workshop
November 19th & November 24th 6:30pm – 7:30pm CST
Are you hoping to earn scholarships for college? Do you want your essay and resume to stand out? This hour-long workshop is designed to help improve your scholarship applications and make a better case for admission to a competitive college or program and receive scholarships.
We are offering two opportunities for you to gain insights on how to write a compelling and meaningful essay and how to make your resume look more polished and standout. The workshops will be run by the College’s Admissions & Outreach Coordinator and its Director, both of whom have years of experience in competitive admissions and read thousands of essays and resumes each year. Participants will see examples of successful materials and have a chance to submit questions for immediate feedback.
The program will conclude with reminders and tips about application processes and deadlines.
Don’t miss this chance to improve your submissions for admission and scholarships. Space is limited.
Scholars (Virtual) Day
Each summer the most talented and accomplished students from throughout the nation are invited to join us for our Scholars (Virtual) Day to learn more about the role that the Honors College can play in enriching and enhancing their education here at the University of Missouri.
This is a SUMMER event. Watch this site for SU 2021 updates.
It will be recorded and made available to those who wish to return to the site or visit at a later time. It will go off-line on August 31, 2020.
Prospective students who log on to join us will be treated to several unique sessions through which they will interact with the College’s students, faculty, and administrators. Live feed opening and closing sessions will frame the event, while participants will have the opportunity to submit comments and questions through a number of Live Chats and Q&A sessions. More than forty Academic Unites (Colleges, Schools, Departments, and Programs) will be participating.
Virtual tours are available so that you can also see the Honors Learning Community (HLC) residences in Mark Twain Hall or Schurz Hall.
As part of the program, there will be a session on current student research and artistry projects through which you can learn what it is like to be a part of the College’s growing cohort of co-curricular Scholars & Fellows who undertake research or artistry in a professional setting as an integral part of their overall education.
Information sessions will be held, focusing on Honors-specific interactions within departments and programs, MedOpp and the pre-med program, Fellowships, study abroad, and our curricular offerings.
One of the program’s highlights will be our student panel, where you can interact with our current students and learn, first-hand, about the day-to-day life of a Mizzou Honors Tiger, from classroom to dorm room, and everything in between.
Space is limited, even though the event is virtual, so please register through the Office of Admissions.
