Current Honors College Students

As an Honors College student, if I choose S/U grading how will it impact my Honors eligibility?

  • If you are considering whether or not to select the S/U grading you are strongly urged to consult with your major advisor in your Academic Unit before doing so, as well as an Honors advisor, in order to understand the full ramifications of such a decision on your progress towards a degree, qualification for scholarships, and etc. There are many factors to be aware of before choosing the S/U option.
  • The Honors College will accept an S grade from a completed Spring 2020 course towards fulfilling Honors College requirements (enrollment, progress toward Certificate, non-GPA scholarship criteria). Your GPA for Honors-eligibility will be calculated based upon the existing letter grades on your transcript, from all semesters prior and from any graded courses in Spring 2020.
  • No Honors College-related academic actions (dismissal, revocation of scholarships) will be applied until Fall 2020. At that time, if an academic action is taken and you feel that Spring 2020 has had an adverse impact on your status, you can use our appeals process.
  • You should check with your department regarding departmental honors requirements, as these are set by the individual departments.
  • Please refer to the University-wide FAQ and direct all subsequent questions to one of your advisors.
