Goode Scholars

The Senator Wayne Goode, Curator Emeritus Scholars Program provides an exciting and intellectually stimulating path to undergraduate research. Goode Scholars are paired with a faculty member to start working on research day one of their college career. While working on these research projects in their academic discipline, students gain insight into the professional world, enhance their knowledge base and critical thinking skills, and better prepare themselves for their path after they graduate from MU. These students also form an invaluable connection with their faculty mentor that can last for years to come and open other doors during their academic years.

Award Amount and Expectations

Goode Scholars are awarded a scholarship of $2,000 for the year. This award is dispersed in two equal installments during the year and only if the student meets the program requirements. Selected students work on their research project approximately eight hours per week during the academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

Current first year students and entering freshmen with an ACT composite score of 32 or SAT score of 1420 are eligible for this program. No prior research work is required.
