Welcome to the MU Honors College!
Our online Summer Welcome (SW) program is designed to prepare you for course registration, becoming an Honors Tiger (a part of our ambush), and make sure that you are fully onboard before we begin classes in the Fall.
Our daily Chat Session, designed to follow the viewing of the video, will open up each Day 1 of Orientation at 11:50 a.m. and last for 40 minutes (until 12:30 CDT).
Each heading, below, is an active link that will take you to the sites you will need.
SW Honors appointments are only arranged once you are actually participating in the two-day SW experience, and after you have met with your academic advisor on Day 2. Go to this page to learn more and to find the contact number to call.
Meet the Honors staff, especially our Advisors, by exploring their profiles (and contact information) on this page.
FALL 2020 Available Honors Courses Listing (Updated Daily)
This is the listing, updated frequently, of all courses that are still open for enrollment, and which have more than five available spaces.
If you want to see a complete listing, including many courses that are already full (but it never hurts to ask) you can visit our Honors Courses listing for Fall 2020.
Learn more about these small, intensive, and innovative courses, the faculty teaching them, and how they make an impact on your learning. You will also find the application, at the bottom of the page, which is due on July 24, 2020.
Learn more about the individual ASH Scholars projects, their leading faculty, and the student cohorts. You can also scroll down to the bottom of the page to begin the application, which is due on July 24, 2020.
Available scholarship for incoming students who are “high need” (please see the Financial Aid Office for determination) and who are studying education or one of the health professions fields. Applications are due on July 24, 2020.
Learn more about our chosen book, the programming that will help bring it to life, and the ways that you will use this book to build your Honors community and in your academic growth. Make sure you get the book and get reading so that the conversations can begin in earnest by July 01, 2020.

Honors Summer Welcome Presentation [Text + Closed Captioning]
If you have any other questions, you may find the answers by exploring our website. But we also encourage you to contact us by email, the daily SW Chat, or by calling–we like engaging with our students. One of our staff members will be sure to respond through each of those forums as appropriate and as soon as we are able.
For those not yet admitted into Honors, unfortunately we are unable to admit any new students for Fall 2020 (our applications closed on March 01). Please contact us after Summer Welcome (which ends July 17) and we will be happy to discuss with you how a student enrolled at MU can apply for entry in either a subsequent semester (current MU students and transfer students) or academic year (first-year students).
