Biography

Hannah Nolan is a postdoctoral teaching fellow at the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy and the Honors College, where she co-teaches courses on revolution and constitutions. Her research focuses upon the creation of ethnic and national identities through collective memories and partisan politics in the early national period. She recently completed her PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she wrote a dissertation examining the collective memory of the failed United Irish Uprising of 1798 within Irish America and its uses as a political and ethnic organizing tool throughout the early American republic.
