Biography

Dr. Hennkens is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, with a joint appointment at the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR). Her research program utilizes the specialized resources available at MURR and across the Mizzou campus to investigate the production and purification of medically relevant radiometals and radiometalloids. A primary focus of her research is the development of theranostic radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging and targeted radiotherapy, particularly for the treatment of cancer. Her multidisciplinary research program provides collaborative training opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral researchers while advancing applications of radiochemistry in modern medicine.
