Biography

Sami Overby has worked at the University of Missouri since 2023 and joined the Honors College in October 2025 as the program coordinator of the Missouri Scholars Academy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology-geology and music from Brown University in 2017. He is proud to help facilitate this incredible educational and developmental experience for Missouri’s high school students from behind the scenes. Sami also conducts biometeorology research at Mizzou as a part-time graduate student. His interests include gardening, exploring midwestern wilderness, appreciating art and media, and watching wildlife, especially birds.
