Senior Spotlight: Avery Rayle

A Powerful Experience
The first cohort of Tarkow Teaching Fellows – Amanda Durbak, Les Gray, and Chris Josey – were named earlier this year and are currently sharing their expertise with Honors students through the Extended One Read course. Along with a symposium – where students have the opportunity to interact with the author of that year’s text – students can dive further into the selected book through the Extended One Read course.

Encouraging the Next Generation of Musical Experts
As this year’s Honors Faculty Fellow, Julie Rosenfeld will lead a study abroad experience to Vienna, Austria, and Budapest, Hungary, after the spring semester. Rosenfeld, an associate professor of violin in the School of Music, has taught in the Humanities Sequence in the past and will be more heavily involved in the sequence as the Faculty Fellow. A simple note from a violin teacher put a third grade Julie Rosenfeld on a path that would eventually have her perform in more than 1,200 concerts across 20-plus countries. Mizzou Welcomes 2024 Cohort of Stamps Scholars
The University of Missouri is one of just 36 universities across the United States and into the United Kingdom that partners with the Stamps Scholars Program on a premier scholarship. Mizzou has collaborated with the program since 2016, offering Tigers a full four-year scholarship, covering up to the total estimated cost of attendance (including housing), plus an additional $16,000 enrichment fund for students to use throughout their time at MU. Incoming Stamps Scholar Kiraly Vega will pursue a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Missouri. Kiraly Vega had two items on her college wish list – a place where she could participate in undergraduate research and engage in an exciting study abroad program. Incoming Stamps Scholar John Otto will pursue a business administration degree at the University of Missouri.
