Incredible Hands-On Learning

Honors Independent Study (GN_HON 2085H), Honors Internship (GN_HON 1080H) and Honors Research (GN_HON 2950H/4950H) are designed to provide students pursuing the Honors Certificate with opportunities to earn academic credit for their hands-on learning experiences.

Honors Independent Study is a self-directed project of academic study and enrichment under the direction of a Mizzou faculty member appropriate to the student’s particular field of interest. It is an opportunity to pursue study of a subject or topic in more depth than would normally be available in traditional course work.

Honors Internship is a self-directed project of academic study and enrichment under the direction of a Mizzou faculty member in conjunction with an off-campus internship. It is an opportunity to translate experiential opportunities, such as field work or internships, into academic experience and achievement.

Honors Research allows the students to participate in ongoing research, led by a Mizzou faculty member, and gain valuable experience in their chosen field of study.
