Build Your Community

While the academic opportunities offered through the Honors College are outstanding, our students also find a strong sense of community as they pursue the Honors Certificate. Many develop life-long friendships through their shared interests and passions.

Honors Events

There are plenty of opportunities for students to build community outside the classroom. Activities include Geek Week, crafternoons, service projects, game nights and more!

Honors One Read

Each year the Honors College selects an important book – fiction or non-fiction – as its One Read. The major theme or themes of the book then becomes the focal point of Honors community activities, programming, and even courses and academic units of study.

Honors Housing

As an Honors student, you may choose (but are not required) to live in the Mark Twain Residence Hall. Both men and women live in the hall, which has some ADA accessible rooms. Benefits include dedicated study areas, on-site Honors advising and workshops, and Honors-exclusive events. Honors students who choose not to live in the Mark Twain Residence Hall are welcome to visit and participate in events and activities.
