Strategy One: Enhance the applicant pipeline by clarifying and elevating the unique features making Mizzou Honors a compelling and affordable choice for extraordinary students. 

  • Develop and promote a clear vision of the value of the Honors College that articulates its distinctive academic, professional and experiential opportunities. 
  • Expand and showcase high-impact experiential learning opportunities that distinguish the Honors experience. 
  • Increase awareness of Honors opportunities among both campus stakeholders and a broader variety of external audiences. 
  • Reduce financial barriers to attending Mizzou and the Honors College. 

Strategy Two: Strengthen Honors admissions processes to more intentionally shape incoming classes of students whose ambitions, talents and engagement align with the Honors mission.

  • Refine admissions evaluation criteria to select students who will make the most of the Honors experience.
  • Utilize data-informed recruitment and admissions practices to improve enrollment outcomes.
  • Evaluate and strengthen admissions processes to support strategic enrollment goals.

Strategy Three: Guide admitted students to enroll at Mizzou through better communication of Honors opportunities, student value and belonging. 

  • Create a comprehensive yield strategy that engages students from admission through enrollment. 
  • Foster earlier peer connections and a sense of belonging among admitted students. 
  • Develop a visible and welcoming Honors College home that strengthens identity, community and recruitment. 

The Honors College advances the core goals of the University of Missouri by promoting student success, deepening research engagement and strengthening community connections across campus. Our priorities align directly with Mizzou’s commitment to an exceptional student experience and with the Power the Roar campaign’s focus on educating future leaders, improving lives and building stronger communities. Together, these shared goals position Honors as a central driver of academic excellence and student opportunity at Missouri’s flagship university.
