Scholarships & Aid

Honors College students are eligible for a variety of scholarships and awards! Admitted students are automatically considered for a range of scholarships through MU Admissions. Current MU students can submit an application in ScholarshipUniverse to be considered for all Honors scholarships they are eligible for.

A few Honors College scholarships require a separate application process.

Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

There are several scholarships available for incoming Honors College students. The below scholarships are specific to the Honors College; students may also be eligible for other Mizzou scholarships.

MU’s premier scholarship program open to students who are enrolled in any accredited U.S. or international high school.

  • Amount: Four-year, full scholarship, plus an additional $16,000 enrichment fund
  • Deadline: December 1
  • Eligibility: Must have at least a 32 ACT or 1420 SAT and hold at least a 3.5 core GPA

The Honors Access Housing Award is a highly-selective award that supports Honors students with financial need.

  • Amount: Honors Access Housing Award recipients will receive a one-time scholarship, covering one year of on-campus room and board. This award will cover your cost of housing and dining for your first year on campus. 
  • Deadline: February 1
  • Eligibility: To qualify for this award you must be admitted to Honors by priority deadline (Feb. 1). You must file a FAFSA and meet priority deadline, and the FAFSA must deem you pell-eligible. For fall 2025, this award is only open to Missouri residents.

The University of Missouri and the Missouri Scholars Academy are happy to offer competitive scholarships for MSA alumni who plan to continue “Week 4” as Mizzou freshmen in the fall.

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Deadline: December 1
  • Eligibility: Missouri Scholars Academy alumni who will be incoming Mizzou freshmen

The Brazeal Scholarship was created in 2004 by Jim and Cathy Brazeal in order to attract and retain the best young scholars to the MU campus. 

  • Amount: At least $15,000 per year, renewable for a total of four years; an additional $6,000 to cover the costs associated with an MU Study Abroad program
  • Deadline: December 1
  • Eligibility: Must have at least a 32 ACT or 1420 SAT and hold at least a 3.5 core GPA

  • Amount: $3,000
  • Deadline: December 1
  • Eligibility: Current first-year students and entering freshmen with a 32 ACT or 1420 SAT

This program supports students pursuing majors in education or healthcare-related fields and demonstrate financial need.

  • Amount: $5,000 per year
  • Deadline: December 1
  • Eligibility: Pursuing the following majors: education, health professions, nursing or any other pre-med majors; demonstrate financial need; and be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S.

Undergraduate research students in the arts, social sciences or humanities (ASH) disciplines, who collaboratively work as members of a faculty-led research or design team.

  • Amount: $3,000
  • Deadline: July 31
  • Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and current MU students interested in the arts, social sciences or humanities disciplines

  • Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and current MU students interested in the arts, social sciences or humanities disciplines

Participate in individually designed research or creative scholarship projects full-time for nine weeks over the summer under the mentorship of an MU faculty member.

  • Amount: $7,000, plus access to a $1,000 research/creative project expense account
  • Deadline: February 15
  • Eligibility: Current Honors students in good standing, must have prior or current research/creative project experience

Spring Scholarships are open to current Honors students who can apply with a single application on ScholarshipUniverse. Students will be considered for all Honors scholarships they are eligible for.

  • Amount: Varies
  • Deadline: February 15
  • Eligibility: Varies by class standing and major

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Eligibility: Honors student in good standing with an interest in marketing and communications

Join the Honors Community

Students must be admitted to Mizzou before they can apply to the Honors College. Once admitted to MU, students who are eligible will see the Honors College application on their Application Status Page. Students who do not meet eligibility requirements can request an application.
