Launched in November 2013, the Show-Me Scholars program is designed to recruit high-achieving students from Missouri each year to MU. This program is supported by Peggy and Andrew Cherng and the Panda Charitable Foundation.
Recognizing the academic achievements of incoming freshman that are Missouri residents, the program’s goal is to create a selective and cohesive group of scholarship recipients.
Award Amount and Expectations
Show-Me Scholars will receive a one-time scholarship of $2,000 their first year on campus. This award is dispersed in two equal installments during the year and only if the student meets the program requirements. Their first semester on campus, students will also be enrolled in a special one credit hour seminar class together with Honors College Cherng Scholars. Show-Me Scholars are expected to remain active members of the Honors College and complete their Honors Certificate.
Incoming freshmen who are Missouri residents and have an ACT composite score of 29 or SAT score of 1330 are eligible for the Show-Me Scholars Program.
